What We Do

Empowering Indigenous Communities through Carbon, Conservation, and Digital Innovation

Our Work is built on the belief that the most effective climate solutions are those led by the indigenous communities who have stewarded East Africa’s rangelands for generations. Our five key activities comprise:

  1. Digital MRV Platform

  2. Pastoralist Training and Cooperatives

  3. Carbon and Biodiversity Credits

  4. Innovation Labs

  5. Policy and Advocacy

Our Key Activities

Digital MRV Platform

Our Digital MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) platform simplifies carbon monitoring using mobile-friendly apps, satellite data, and social MRV tools.

This robust technical infrastructure is helping pastoralists track carbon sequestration, soil moisture, and biodiversity in real-time, enabling them to track rangeland health in real-time, and demonstrate the global impact of their stewardship with unprecedented clarity.

Pastoralist Training

We are expanding manuals and modules (such as Pastoralist Herder Livestock Training Manual, Community Carbon, and other Nature-Based Solutions Training Manuals) into community academies.

By formalizing this knowledge through cooperative governance, we are empowering pastoralists to lead their own rangeland restoration, master carbon market fundamentals, and manage sustainable livestock enterprises with the technical expertise required for a modern green economy.

Carbon Credits

Our Carbon and Biodiversity Credits is helping develop carbon and biodiversity projects across expansive rangelands, vital coastal ecosystems, and agroforestry landscapes.

These projects create carbon and biodiversity credits, which provide sustainable revenue streams for indigenous communities while safeguarding East Africa's most critical carbon sinks.

Innovation Labs

Our Innovation Labs serve as a dynamic testing ground for the next generation of nature-based solutions (NBS).

By placing a specific focus on the youth involvement, our labs ensure indigenous communities are constantly at the forefront of piloting data-driven regenerative ecological enterprises, grazing plans, and conservation models that harmonise livestock production with ecosystem health.

Policy & Advocacy

We act as a strategic bridge, supporting regional and national governments in drafting high-integrity carbon market regulations that align with international standards.

Central to this effort is the integration of Indigenous voices into the heart of policy-making; we advocate for framework designs that recognise communal land rights and guarantee that pastoralist communities are not just participants, but primary decision-makers and beneficiaries in Africa’s climate future.
